For that reason, a buzzing sound should now prompt a practical question before a speculative one: does the combination of sound, movement, lighting and location match the behaviour of a multirotor drone? In many contemporary cases the answer is yes, making drones one of the most plausible explanations for reports of buzzing “UFOs”. When key observations cannot be reconciled with known drone performance, the object may remain unidentified—but the buzzing itself is not evidence of an extraordinary origin.
